Kristie made the leap into the industries of Real Estate and Design in early 2015. Making the decision to switch careers all together was a bit nerve wrecking, but since then she has had no regrets.
Previously, Kristie was employed by big companies such as Nordstrom, Northrop Grumman, CACI, and Corinthian College, Inc. She left Radford University with a BS in Fashion Merchandising and Public Relations in 2002. Soon after graduation she pursued a career within the fashion industry working for Nordstrom. As luck would have it, and through networking with a client during a personal shopping experience, she landed a totally new career as a Field Consultant/Technical Trainer for Northrop Grumman. While working for NG, she traveled throughout the United States and to several countries. After a few years of traveling around and working for NG, she was given the opportunity to move to San Diego, CA from Washington, DC to pursue another defense contracting gig with CACI. The eight years leading up to her current career in Real Estate, she worked in the Human Resources department of Corinthian Colleges, Inc., as their Director of Internal Learning and Development. During that time, she lead the communication and training of enterprise-wide new system implementations.
Her careers leading up to real estate have groomed her to be very strategic in project planning, to handle multiple tasks at one time, to come up with creative ways of solving problems, and to be detail oriented and communicative as much as possible.
Being an independent contractor with Pearson Smith Realty allows her the freedom to customize and flex styles of her work approach and tactics. She continuously works towards fine-tuning processes so that they're more efficient and seamless for her clients.
She is licensed in both Viriginia and D.C., and has helped numerous individuals and families stage, buy, and/or sell a home.
Whether buying or selling, the initial step of building a relationship with her clients is always the same. She starts by assessing her clients’ specific needs to determine the best approach to helping them attain their goal.
Clear and timely communication is key to helping her client’s accomplish their goal. One example that sets her apart from other agents is that she creates a customized project plan for each client outlining all of the steps for buying / selling a home. She does not have a cookie cutter strategy for conducting business as not one sale is alike.
